Vince and Tracey Douglas are the owners of Wade Motors Ltd. located in Silverdale, approximately 30km north of Auckland. With Vince very much hands-on on the workshop floor, Tracy works actively on the business ‘behind the scenes’.
Wade Motors Ltd. is a ‘one-stop’ automotive service centre that has been looking after our customers for 23 Years.
We are an established general repairer repairing petrol, diesel and heavy trucks. We carry out a complete range of vehicle repairs from basic servicing to major rebuilds including computer diagnostics, suspension upgrades and repairs, cam belts, Warrants of Fitness, and repair and maintenance of a number of fleet vehicles.
We provide a range of full servicing for cars and trucks, a breakdown service, fork hoist servicing, and we specialise in Truck Certificate of Fitness (COF) repairs and servicing.
Our workshop is under 24 hour surveillance, offering customers peace of mind about the security of their vehicles.
Joining the Automotive Solutions Group
After completing an automotive technician’s apprenticeship, Vince went to Australia to work for a number of years. Returning to Auckland Vince bought into a partnership in Wade Motors in 1988, eventually buying his partner out in 2000.
Wade Motors was one of the early members of the Automotive Solutions Group, joining in 2000.
Vince knew Peter Morton, one of the founders, and a number of the other members reasonably well when he was invited to join.
The Automotive Solutions group had already established a reputation as a selected group of professional automotive repairer, who were dedicated to high standards of workmanship and service.
“They were a great bunch of guys but also just to be able to have that communication, knowledge sharing and networking with other garages appealed to us,” says Vince.
With the Automotive Solutions network covering the whole country, customers can be assured of consistently high service and standards of auto repair wherever they are in New Zealand.
The rest of the team
The team at Wade Motors Ltd. consists of five technicians on the floor, an office administrator, and Vince.
Vince and Tracey also own Silverdale Tyres and Alignment, and this year bought a radiator repair shop, George Bell Radiators (www.georgebellradiators.co.nz). All three shops have their own identify, but are conveniently located at the same business location.
