The only things we don’t do are panel-beating and painting – but we’re happy to refer you to someone who does.

Joining the Automotive Solutions Group

Gary began in the automotive trade about 40 years ago as an apprentice mechanic and has been in the industry his entire working career.

Nearly 20 years ago Gary was the owner of a business at the Mount Albert shopping centre. When he started Gary Prohm Automotive Ltd. he wanted just the right premises. The Mt Albert Rd location was ideal, and the business has been at that location since around 2002.

Gary Prohm Automotive joined the Automotive Solutions group in Christmas 2010. Gary had been silently watching the path and progress of the group since its inception in the late 1990s. Encouraged by its commitment to the advancement and support of automotive repairers around the country, Gary made the decision to join.

The team at Gary Prohm Automotive includes a service manager, two technicians, and an office administrator. Next time you’re in and you see Gary, ask about his rugby league playing days. His is a familiar name and face to fans of the sport, having played for New Zealand in the 1980s.
