Peter Jones and Mark Nottingham, in conjunction with Anne Jones and Shanley Nottingham are the owners of Petermark Automotive Ltd in Glenfield, Auckland.

Joining the Automotive Solutions Group
Since doing their apprenticeships at the age of 15, Peter and Mark have collectively notched up almost 70 years experience in the automotive industry.
Prior to going into business together Peter and Mark both worked for the same company; Peter was service manager and Mark was an automotive technician (mechanic). The company was a general repairer that had a history of working on British motor vehicles as well as a contract servicing police fleet vehicles.
The guys didn’t want to buy an existing business, preferring to start one from scratch. They established Petermark Automotive on Auckland's North Shore in 1986 with the aim of providing a friendly but high standard of automotive service and repair.
25 years and several locations later, Petermark has earned a solid reputation in the industry and built a loyal and growing customer base.
Peter and Mark were founding
members of the Automotive Solutions group in the late 1990s. Along
with some other automotive business owners, they knew it would become
increasingly difficult to stand alone in the changing industry.
“After the first couple of meetings where we looked
at concepts and ideas for the group we jumped in feet first,” says Peter.
The Team

There are no airs and graces about this hard-working and friendly team. Peter, Mark and one other technician both work on the workshop floor. Peter and Mark handle administration, invoicing, most of the parts ordering, motor vehicle diagnostics and repairs, and – in Peter’s words – are the “general dogsbodies” who clean everything from the toilet to the workshop floor.
Anne and Shanley work alternate days; Anne takes care of payroll and accounting matters, with Shanley working primarily in client support.
Meeting, greeting and really communicating with clients is a big part of this family business.
